Laoag City, Philippines 2014

This is my 2nd trip to Laoag City, located at the most northern part of the Philippines, the first one was during the month of August, 2011 which was a very rainy season. I really enjoyed my trip this time, I was able to take lots of photos within the streets and other parts of the City. The city is really clean and not too crowded, even at night it's fun to take a walk around the city, you can also ride a Kalesa for transport. I have also been to other places outside the city like Pagudpud, Bangui, and Burgos.

It's good to see they still have Kalesa's in this old city. It feels nostalgic to ride in one of these, it can fit four skinny passengers plus one next to the driver. To keep the the horse from littering the place, a sheet of plastic catches it's poop.

First person view while sitting next to the driver. The kalesa driver is commonly called as kutsero (from cochero, "car driver"). I really enjoyed the four days of my stay, there's so much more to explore. I love the feeling of being in an old city mixed with modern technology.

More street photos of the city can be viewed on my photo album: Laoag City, Philippines 2014
