Today's Breakfast: Cream Buns

It's been a while since I ate cream buns, I saw this at the store today, so I decided to give it a try. After heating it in the oven, for a few minutes, it gave the buns a crunchy texture on top which makes it fun to eat, like other breads it's best to eat it while it's hot. I've always enjoyed eating this since I was a kid.
Just your ordinary buns with cream on the middle and strawberry jam.

Not all cream buns are created equal.

Here's a Cream Bun Trivia from Wikipedia:
Variations of cream buns exist all around the world. Typically they are made with an enriched dough bread roll that is split after baking and cooling and filled with cream.

Among the numerous international variations are the splits of Devon and Cornwall in southwest England, which are yeasted buns filled with clotted cream, and themaritozzi of the Lazio region of Italy, which are enriched buns, made with dried fruit and filled with whipped cream.

Another specific national verison is the Hong Kong sweet bun. It is one of the most standard pastries in Hong Kong. It can also be found in most Chinatown bakery shops. The bun has either butter cream or whipped cream filling down the middle with coconut sprinkles on the outside. Variations of it include the "Cream Horn", a pastry in a spiral shape, much like a horn, filled with cream.

Finally, I have my own Google+ vanity URL

A custom URL is a short, easy-to-remember web address that links directly to your profile or page.
For example, YouTube's Google+ page can direct people to google.com/+YouTube to visit their page rather than https://plus.google.com/115229808208707341778.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula: Gentle Daily Facial Cleanser

I'm currently trying out this Facial Cleanser from Palmer's, a company from U.S.A. who makes skin products like lotions which has different formulas like Cocoa, Olive, Coconut, and Shea Butter, they also make hair products under their Hair Success line.
It's my first time to use this product from Palmer's, although I have tried using some of their lotions and shampoos. Being a guy I'm a bit hesitant to purchase this product because of the color of the packaging, but I really need a new facial wash, because I've been using soap for a while to wash my face ever since my previous facial wash run out and is no longer available on stores, the soap I've been using is drying up my skin, so I need something that will moisturize my face and is gentle enough for daily use.

The back part shows the beneficial ingredients, and a note saying that Palmer's is against animal testing.

On the label says white lily fragrance, I'm not really sure what white lily smells like, but it smells good after washing, the scent stay on your face.
I like that it's not foamy, it's very smooth to apply to the face and it doesn't dry up my skin.

A nice dessert, Pams Eclairs.

Pams Eclairs. Filled with Bavarian Custard Cream and topped with Real Belgian Chocolate.

The chocolate topping is quite thick and it's better to thaw it first before eating, because the chocolate topping gets hard from freezing.

It gets messy taking them out of the box. The long eclairs comes in a 175 grams box and are only five pieces in total, and the minis are 250 grams in total and there's plenty inside the box when I opened them.

I've never eaten a home baked eclair before so I can't really compare the taste between them. All I can say is this tastes good. The Bavarian filling gives balance to the sweetness of the chocolate, it's not too sweet to eat, I think I can eat five eclairs not get full.

Memphis Meltdown Big Bikkie Ice Cream

My friend +jimmy ng  brought some ice cream, it's a TipTop Memphis Meltdown Big Bikkie, I wasn't able to take a photo of the box so here is the description from Tiptop's website

Big Bikkie
Creamy cookie flavored ice cream packed with cookie chunks,
smothered in cookie crumbs and rich milk chocolate.
Available in single serve and in multipacks of 4.
The packaging is very simple, since all the details are in the box which I wasn't able to see, It made me really curious and excited to eat this ice cream, I have no idea of it's flavor.

Here's what it looks like, it's thick and has lots of chocolate chips, I still have no idea what's inside this thick chocolate coating.

After a few bites I started to realize that it taste like cookies, it's very sweet and I'm not really a fan of cookies and cream flavored ice creams but I like that it has lots of chocolate chips and it just melts in my mouth.

The last few bites changes everything, starting from the overload of sweetness from the chocolate chips and cookies, the creamy part of the ice cream calms things down, I wish there was more of this creamy part of the ice cream. I really enjoyed eating this even though I don't like this flavor.

Size Comparison: iPhone5, Galaxy SII, Galaxy Grand Duos

Small, medium and large. Three phones with different sizes compared.
Starting from top is the iPhone5, next is the Samsung Galaxy SII,
and last at the bottom is Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos.

Top view, the largest of the three phones is the Galaxy Grand.

The iPhone5 is not only the smallest of the three, it is also the thinnest and lightest.
Thanks to my friend +Raul Hortaleza for letting me take a photo of his iPhone5.

Is this a Giant Mosquito?

This is my second encounter of the "Giant Mosquito", the first encounter was way back 2010, if I remember correctly. My friend Jeffrey saw it also in the same location of our kitchen, we also took a photo of it but the photo is now lost, no harm was done to the insect as it was set free and flew outside the house.

A comparison between the wall socket shows how large this insect is.

My sister +Stephy Laurel has recently posted a photo of very large spider in her blog.

Google's New Navigation Menu

Today I notice google's new navigation menu, the black bar on top has been replaced by a clean looking icon which shows the rest of the google applications. I'm not really sure if this is permanent, since whenever I go to gmail or other google sites the black bar still appears.

Dynasty Seafood Restaurant [19-03-2013]

Dynasty Seafood Restaurant, located inside Vision City Mall the place is huge and has around 40+ tables, you can get a good meal just under K30, they also serve fresh juices. Here are some pics with price of the food that me and my family had for today.
I feel like eating beef today so I chose Mongolian Beef with Rice, taste like curry and it's not spicy, goes well with plain rice.  K22.00

For starters, Wonton Soup with veggies and mushrooms. K12.80

My mom had Butter Prawns, I tried some of it and it's very tasty, crispy and not too oily, melts in your mouth. K24.00

My wife had BBQ Pork Ribs, tastes a bit like sweet and sour pork, but more on the sweet side and the sesame seeds blends well with the sauce.

More photos of Dynasty Seafood Restaurant can be found on this blog: thereportersassistant.blogspot.com
